Hello Adenium Lovers;
Today I would like to invite you to play with new Adenium trend. When we talk about Adeniums, most of people think about flowers with caudex. Now Adenium does not play or attract with only flower anymore, we also have fun with form’s playing. The question is what form we should play on adeniums? The answer is “Bonsai form”. Adenium form that I am talking is not authentic bonsai but it is just used the bonsai technique to make them grow like Bonsai

Hi Adenium Lovers,
I have to write more about the article of “Fun with Form” because I have got many questions from my Adenium fans about how to make nice spread roots and organize them. Today I would like to share more techniques about this.
As Thai proverb "You can't teach an old dog new tricks.", this means that if you want your kids to be good people, you 've gotta coach or tutor them since they are baby. Adenium is almost the same with this proverb because she cannot listen to you when you coach her… ha ha ha … The concept of making Adenium to become Bonsai Seedlings is root making.
Adenium Bonsai Seedlings with roots and branches shows aged with 2 years.
This article will show you the technique to grow better nice Adenium seedling, “Fun with Form” part 2. Last time, I talked about growing Adenium baby seedlings on 4 inches and now I will talk about next step. After 2-3 months seedlings grow in 4 inches pot, seedlings will get bigger and we need to remove and grow them in 6-8 inches
their caudex diameter should be around 1-1.5 inches.
Here are the main factors to grow Adenium seedling to become with nice form
1.Mother plants or Parents – This is the most important thing to concern because seedling will become nice form if their parents have nice characters. You’d better know the characters or form very well in order to produce the seedling form as you wish.

I would like to share the idea about “How to make nice Rosy Adenium or Multi-overlapping petals?”. I have got many questions from Adenium lovers around the world, breeders and customers about it. I don’t focus on making Rosy Adenium or multi-overlapping petals, making this very easy, but I focus on making or developing nice, modern, and more new cultivars or flowers. I assume that you know how to do the crossing pollination by hands. If you don’t know how to do this, please
click here. Let’s begin.
1. What parents should I use to do hand crossing pollination?
- The first release of Rosy Adenium was “Dox Xon” was discovered by my friend, Mr. Khoung, from Vietnam on 2007. She came up with red double overlapping petal. On ending of year 2008, we started using this Dox Xon’ pollens and put in many single petal mothers

Hello friends;
Today I would like to represent our new Adenium's development coming up with Aroma or Fragrant. You might not believe that Adenium can give fragrance. Now the dream comes true. From my experiences, I just accidentally discovered one of Adenium cultivars which can provide slightly smell during watering in the early morning.
She was grown from “Harry Potter”, Adenium Crispum, or 2007 Hall of Fame. During 2007, I had got Harry Potter’s seedpod from natural pollination, not manually
cross-pollinating the flower. I took that seedpod and grown to seeldings. Luckily, one of seedlings gave flower blooming and slightly fragrant like Jasmine in early morning. I was so happy and this was my begin to produce a hybrid flower : "Aromatic Adenium".
Hybrid flower breeding often is done to produce certain characteristics. Flower breeders and researchers will breed for hardiness, color, bloom life, disease resistance and other desirable qualities.
Successful hybridization can result in more variety for the consumer, albeit at an often higher price.
seedlings such as symmetric branches, spread root, antique caudex skin, etc. What Adenium hybrids can use for form playing?
Hi Adenium Lovers;
Today I would like to share the idea of “how to select good Adenium form?” The criteria that I am going to talk about came from my contest experiences. I have been Adenium jury many times so I would like to share my knowledge what principle jury use for winning Adenium in contest. In here, , Thailand, we have many juries have good experience and decision. Some juries might be new on Adenium, this would make players big headache however the judgment from them is final.
Here below is the table shown what criteria jury use for winning Adenium’s judgment. If you are making decision on Adenium's buying, you should read this.

Today I would like to talk about another Adenium Rootstock style with large size. Most people think that most of Adenium Rootstock have round shape caudex and root spread but this style is followed by Bonsai Style with many spiral roots around caudex.
Not only nice caudex and root, branches are also followed with Bonsai class. That means we need to know the branch position to do the grafting in order to make her more beautiful in every angle when flowers are fully bloom.
We have many rootstocks with this style. The most popular now is to graft these rootstocks with Rosy Adeniums. We provide this grafting service with your own
or variety selection to graft with this kind of rootstock. Most of our Rootstock is over 10 years and 12-15 inches caudex diameter so this would make caudex skin look antique and very classical.
Today I would like to share the idea how to make adenium with nice form especially with productive flower blooming's technique. In Thailand, we like to use the medium & Large sizes with gardening and landscape business. The most important thing is to focus on nice caudex form and easily productive flowers.
First, I would like to begin with Caudex selection. We have many caudex styles but mainly there are 3 styles popular here.
1. Round shape or Obesum Rootstock
2. Bonsai Shape or Thai Rootstock
3. Special style e.g. Golden caudex
The caudex form I mentioned above is "Rooststock". Mostly Rootstock itself might not have nice, productive and beautful flowers so we need to graft her with lovely flowers to make her more beautiful.

Today I would like to share the idea why I work on making new mixed hybrid seeds from handed-cross pollination between Arabicum and Thai Socotranum. I have tried to find the best point of each hybrid both Arabicum and Thai Socotranum. Arabicum grow fast with powerful branches but not good enough for root base’s growth. Thai Socotranum grow slowly but powerful root base especially with nice caudex skin and compact branches.
I have tried many crossing among them for 2 years and found that seeds harvested from each parent come up with different characters. There are many seeds characters different depending on harvesting on parent herself. Seeds look like “Ball Shape” is the best thing which can grow with good form. Good form in my sight is up to Bonsai terms. They should be consist of nice root base, shorter caudex, brownie caudex, and symmetric branches with strong main middle stem. Please see the photo above to see them.

Glad to see you guys again. “Born to be Bonsai” for this article is my personal quote for “Artificial Adenium-Bonsai Seedlings”, not related with real organized Bonsai. From my experiences, I have found that not only all Adenium seedlings can perform as Dwarf or Compact Seedling form but only 10% can do. On that time, I focused on only TRUE hybrid from mother plants themselves mostly on Arabicums or Thai Socotranums. Table below is shown that what good or weak point for each hybrid I have found.
Our mixed hybrid Thai Socotranum and Arabicum Seedlings aged over 2 years
Today I would like to share you the new trend of Adenium form compatible with Bonsai Class. The most attractive of this Adenium 's style is spread root base. it's also consist of short neck, antique skin, and symatric branch comes up with strong middle branch and surrounding side branches. Thai Socotranum itself mostly has high caudex, please see the left photo. Arabicum has wide caudex but branch is hardly compact which most branch will get longer and hard to stop because this is nature of it.

As we know, Golden Crown is one of the best and most expensive Thai Socotranums. It will be better if we can make it more beautiful from the beginning. First, we have to choose the 4-month seedlings originally from original hybrid Thai Socotranum: Golden Crown. We notice and select the seedlings with caudex balancing with top branches. Branches should be balance in 4 sides or in the same level and also has main middle branch the most important for this Golden Crown. The root’s consideration in this time is pretty hard because it’s in media.

I have got many questions about seed sowing technique. Today I would like to share my experience of it.
This year is longer cold weather not happened in Thailand before. This would help adeniums caudex can store food better and also give healthier seedpods. Seeds are very strong and higher germination rate. We always concern about seed quality affected to seedling quality as well. All of our seeds are harvested from original mother plants so you can ensure they are TRUE hybrids,
this won't waste your sowing time with wrong hybrids. Now let's see how we sow seeds in order to get nice seedlings.
On red spot is the root part used for dive down into media
Adenium Manually crossing is very easy. This article will show you how to do this.

In this year, we have produced Adenium flowers with multi-overlapped petals or we called “Rosy Adeniums. This is the biggest revolution of this year not only with Rosy Adeniums but also Adenium form. I have got many questions from Adenium players from many countries how to choose the nice Adenium seedlings to grow or maintain them with better form. Adenium seedlings in my mention is
Adenium : Thai Socotranum, Arabicum and mixed hybrid : Thai Socotranum x Arabicum.
Long time ago, most of players only concerned with what hybrids can grow in good form. This would also have a big problem with new players because they are not familiar with Adenium hybrids or characters so they hardly decide and select what hybrids will be able to grow in good form. This will come up with the next question “What is Adenium with good form gonna be?”. About 3 years ago, players here were so serious about true hybrids, not even think much about form because they are very serious to get seedlings grown from true mother plant only. Two years later, Bonsai begins into Adenium especially with Adenium : Thai Socotranum. Players or growers start applying Bonsai’s technique with Adenium : Thai Socotranum. Actually, Bonsai has come to Thailand for many years

As we know, Adeniums are beautiful plants especially with their caudex attraction. They will have much more value if they grow in nice pots and perfect matched with Adeniums. Each one is unique to give a real character to your Adeniums. We would like to offer these pots especially produced with “Hand Made” so they will be better quality and details. These pots are usually matched with medium or large Adenium Caudex.

| This was our first release of Aromatic Adenium with white petal decorating with fresh splashy red stripe. |
This was second release of Aromatic Adenium developing from "Red Harry". |

When you begin to maintain the form of Adenium seedlings, you should know how to start in the right direction and good form in the long term. This can help you not waste your time and wrong trial with growing in better form. First thing you must know is the adenium’s characters which present in best seedling form most popular one is “Bonsai Form”.
This is the most important thing on Adenium’s maintaining.
Hi Adenium Lovers;
I would like to share a new technique to help making Adenium branches become better symmetric form following with Bonsai Class by using the sunlight’s direction instead of leave cutting. Leave cutting was the old way to control the form mostly used with Arabicum. This is just to stop getting longer branch in a short term and not only make caudex slower
growing but also root won’t be spread more because of less photosynthesis come from leaves. Here below is the new technique to make nice branches with symmetric form.
Hello friends;
Today I would like to share new adenium hybrid came from mutation. This mutation will make normal adenium characters or forms change to new ones. I would like to introduce “Dorset Horn” ‘s mutation impact to leaves, branches, and flowers. “Dorset Horn” mainly happens on a leave which makes it curved down like horn. This “Dorset Horn” characters can happen to every adenium species such as Arabicum, Obesum, Somalense but it’s very hard to happen.

Super Deluxe Plastic Adenium Bonsai Pot
Rip the form of stucco to design a new pot into the form of AA-grade plastic materials which makes with good quality and durable plastic bonsai. This pot is mocked up from genuine Chinese Bonsai pot. Now most pots for medium size of Adenium is generally used stucco material. This is hard and difficult in transporting and inconvenience in transportation, including fracture.
This Plastic Pot can be shipped easily so we have an idea to split the rules of the intensity of a light and durable. You don't need to worry about fragile during shipping and the most important is inexpensive pots like cement. This pot is suitable for Adenium Bonsai or even Adenium flower, but as the dimensions are Length 50.5 cm / Width 40.5 cm / Height 14 cm/ thickness of 3 mm.

Hello friends;
Today I would like to share the technique on how to fix adenium seedling with longer, disorder and not symmetric branches to become better following with bonsai style. I use the pruning technique and bonsai concept to do this. Most of growers or players know well about pruning but how we prune to make plants get more attractive. First, you’ve gotta know why we need to prune adeniums.
When growing Adenium seedling to become bonsai characters, the key to success is pruning. In this article, we will discuss how to prune Adenium so you can have an amazing one. Keep in mind that different species of adeniums are suitable for different styles so learning how to prune adenium the right way is essential not just to appearance but to the overall health of the adenium. What you will find is that function and form walk a fine line when it comes to bonsai, requiring a perfect balance of science of growth and art, something that takes time to learn.
This adenium is Arabicum : Dwarf RCN in bareroot shipped to a friend of mine from Indonesia and let's see how he worked on this adenium.

We have 3 different kinds of pruning techniques.
1. To improve or modify plant body’s shape to become better form or wanna big change from original form to another one, this method we always need to have most cut close to caudex.
2. To adjust some branches to be able to make much more order or more branches in order to correct some defect angles. This way we just give them a little pruning.
3. To boost new branch babies or new blooming. You can prune their branches deeply or shorten and also give flower’s fertilizer at the same time to speed up flowers. When new branches come up, they will give full blooming.
As you can see, how to prune your adenium is not a complicated subject but it is a necessary one. You have to prune your adenium means of
maintaining the correct shape of adenium, while encouraging new growth. What you will discover is that some adeniums
 |
 |
| Repot and give traning on her branches |
Her branches are getting symmetric or in good shape |
 |
 |
| Start pruning to make more branches and get rid of longer or unwanted branches |
Give her training again including with new coming branches |
 |
 |
| Getting better branch form and more bushy |
and she looks the best now, but just keep pruning |
respond naturally and very well to pruning while others have a hard time recovering. Again, the key is to prune only in the right season for the type of adeniums you have. Pruning’s objective with Adenium Obesum is to make more flowers and bushy form but doing on Arabicum and Thai Socotranum are different mostly focused on form. I hope you this pruning technique will make you get more fun with adenium's growing. Have a nice day.
Pruning Technique on Adenium
Hello friends,
Today I would like to share the new trend of grafting Adenium Obesum on Adenium Arabicum. Most of colorful flowers originally came from Adenium Obesum, unlike Adenium Arabicum mostly give only soft or deep pink flower. Adenium Arabicum has unique style especially on big trunk caudex, chubby, and some species can perform nice spread root base unlike Adenium Obesum. Some Arabicum species have black or antique caudex skin like Adenium Thai Socotranum. This’s why we can grow and maintain Arabicum to become bonsai form popular in Adenium players and collectors. Most adenium lovers know adenium in terms of caudex and nice color flowers when full blooming. That means they care for attractive flower for easier selling. Bonsai's trend on Adenium seedling came here 5 years ago but most players focused on growing Arabicum or Thai Socotranum.
Fancy Rosy Adenium grafting on Adenium Arabicum rootstock, 14 inches caudex diameter, aged 3 years, grows in Bonsai Pot.
Most nursery here grow on Adenium Obesum or Adenium Arabicum seperately because nursery’ owners are afraid of they will mess up crossing together and the important thing is that Obesum (colorful flowers) is easier to sell to market. Arabicum and Thai Socotranum are mostly sell to a group of bonsai players or collectors. That’s why obesum growers or gardeners here use Obesum as rootstocks. They also believed that grafting on same scions from mother plant and rootstocks will give flower’s stability and productive flower like mother plant when grafting on obesum rootstock.
Can we graft Obesum on Arabicum even they are different species?
This is true! I have tried many times to graft by using obesum scions graft on Arabicum and Thai Socotranum as rootstocks and everything is the same as obesum mother plant in terms of productive flowers and stability. One different thing is the grafting area on Arabicum branches and scions from obesum takes a little bit more time to link but they will have perfectly smooth link better than Obesum grafting on obesum itself in longer time.
That means from now on you can play adenium as Bonsai form comes up with nice colorful flowers. Luckily, Arabicum branches can link very well and faster with Rosy Adenium or Multi-overlapping petals from
Grafting Rosy Adenium (obesum) on Arabicum as rootstock, you can see flowers are very productive like grafting on Obesum as rootstock.
Obesum than other obesum single flowers. From my experiences, I have found that it takes about 10 days for grafting. You can notice or check scions and branches completely link together from seeing new small leaves coming out from top of scions or having new incoming buds. I always cut or remove leaves from scions because this will reduce dehydration on scion’ leaves and make scions can absorb more food from rootstock in order scions not to be wrinkle or die before grafting.
Another new grafting style is called "Fancy Grafting". It means grafting many flower varieties or multi-colors on the same rootstock.
Grafting by using obesum single petal has also no problem on Arabicum rootstock same output as on Obesum rootstock.
"Fancy Grafting" is also very popular with more colorful flowers in the same plant. Now colorful medium or large adenium sizes are very popular now especially for landscape business, resorts, gardens, parks.
It's a little bit harder to make grafting on Arabicum rootstock
because their branches are softer than obesum. You need to graft them very carefully and make sure your obesum scions are not too young. Normally you should use minimum 2-3 years Arabicum rootstock because the branch will connect with scions faster and hard to rotten after grafting.
Fancy Grafting on Arabicum Rootstock.
After finish grafting you should put your grafted adenium in the shade or 60% slant for 7-10 days then you will see new baby leaves or bud coming out from scion as I mentioned before. You should not watering during that time because rootstock will feel that it has enough water or food and it won't send food full efficiency to scions.
This would be make scions wrinkle or rotten. Before grafting, you should also stop watering on both of rootstock and scion for a week. This will make scions and rootstock branches feel very hungry and make them connect faster.
Rosy Adenium Scions grafting with Araicum rootstock.
We have 3 kinds of rootstock (Round shaped Obesum, Root show or Thai Rootstock, and Arabicum bonsai rootstocks for your selections. We also provide you with many adenium flowers to graft with them both of Rosy Adenium and single adenium flowers. You can select what adenium flowers you like and rootstock types then we will make grafting for you.
You can see more information on our medium and large adenium caudex from

That's all for today and enjoy adenium growing. Take care and have a nice day.

Hello friends,
Today I would like to introduce Adenium defined with mainly popular form and structure. In here, Thailand, there are 6 distinctive forms following with Adenium structure and contest styles. ecause of attractive forms, various blooms and species, Adeniums or Desert Roses have become well-known and popular among plant lovers and collectors. Recently, Thai breeders and growers can pollinate Adeniums’ flowers by hands, leading to a wide variety of hybrids. Ok, let’s begin now.
 |
1. Arabicum Style: Here we have about 11 Arabicum varieties. This form is the most popular for collectors and players. In Arabicum, we like round and chubby caudex, shorten neck and bushy branches on top. Due to naturally faster growing, it’s easy to grow it, just keep changing the pot and they will get bigger and bigger. |
 |
2. Obesum Caudex & Root Show: This form is very attractive especially with twisted roots. Collectors and players like to use this as rootstock and make grafting on them with colorful Adenium flowers. This form mostly comes from Obesum hybrid. The productive and big flowers, for grafting use, would be perfect matched with this form. |
 |
3. Obesum Rootstock with Bonsai Style: This is one of Adenium Bonsai styles and also called “Thai Rootstock”. Most of this form comes from native Thai Obesum. This rootstock’s form is pretty unique with high trunk from bottom and divided branch with bonsai pattern. The productive, small flowers and small or narrow leaves would be matched with this form. |
 |
4. Air Layering with Bonsai Style: This form is very popular in here, Indonesia and Malaysia. The best Adenium for Air Layering or cutting now is Arabicum: Ra Chi Nee Pan Dok (RCN). The popular style is centipede roots and bushy branches on top. RCN is the most productive flower in Arabicums so it will be very beautiful when full blooming. |
 |
5. Seedling with Bonsai Style: This form is unique with nice spread roots, symmetric branches and antique caudex skin. The popular hybrids with this form are Arabicum and Thai Socotranum. We like to maintain seedlings bonsai style with age over 5 years. Now Thai Socotranum is very popular because this hybrid can provide the best root base (octopus style), symmetric branches with middle main stem, rapidly branch antinodes and antique caudex skin. |
 |
6. Somalense with tower style: Somalense is one of Adenium hybrids comes up with tall or tower style. The popular style with this form is long trunk, bushy branches and blooming flowers on top.
Mostly we like to make grafting on this and the perfect flowers would be small or medium size but they have to give very productive flowers. |
| We have these forms available and also give you advice about matching flowers to graft on them. Enjoy growing adenium and have a nice day. |

and very very productive flowers.
Hello Friends;
Today I would like to share our new development on Rosy Adenium with triple white overlapping petals. Developing on white is pretty hard to get on pure white because they will have tiny pink or yellow on petal borders.
Pure white is the most wanted for players or collectors here. Sometimes it looks stable on mother plant, but when making 1st grafting on other rootstocks, tiny pink or yellow comes up again on border.
We've spent 2 years to use our most pure white on single petal crossing with original Rosy Adenium. Just keep crossing and doing research. We had about 50 varieties on white Rosy Adeniums but we checked the stablility with pure white and found that only 5 varieties have the best pure white and 100% white stability (The pure white is still the same as their mothers even grafting on other rootstocks).
White is one of rare adenium flower' colors, mostly are red. Players or collectors have been looking for the best white to make grafting on large rootstocks. They are very nice when full blooming happens. We also have new arrivals on Rosy Adeniums and Single Adenium petals with many lovely styles, please see table below. I hope you are gonna like them.
Have a nice day.
